Terms and conditions of use of the Trade Map database
| 1. | The International Trade Centre UNCTAD/WTO (hereafter referred to as ITC) has developed and maintains an interactive Web-based database of international trade statistics and market access data named Trade Map. The Trade Map database is hosted on ITC’s server in Geneva. |
| 2. | Trade Map was developed by ITC’s Market Analysis Section with the objective to enhance the capacity of trade support institutions and businesses in developing countries to undertake market research for trade development on the basis of international trade statistics and market access data. |
| 3. | Access to the Trade Map database is granted to users and partner organisations in any country on a non-exclusive basis. |
| 4. | Access to the Trade Map database is via a Password / Username interface. |
| 5. | National country partners subscribing to the customised Trade Map database are required to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with ITC outlining conditions of access and subscription fees. |
| 6. | ITC reserves the right to grant temporary access to the Trade Map database at no cost to selected users, at its own discretion, without justification or prejudice to the future implementation of the official Trade Map charging policy for these selected users. |
| 7. | The Trade Map database can be accessed via the Trade Map Web site on http://beta.trademap.net/. |
Trade Map national version for dissemination: “Trade Map Country Name”
| 8. | A customised version of the Trade Map database can be developed by ITC for partner organisations. This version allows the dissemination of access to third parties in the partner organisation’s own country only. |
| 9. | The customised version of the Trade Map database is referred to as “Trade Map Country Name” where the Country is the partner organisation’s country base. |
| 10. | Partner organisations are provided with a confidential, primary Username and Password to their customised version of the Trade Map database. Partner organisations are not authorised to publish, disseminate, sell or share their primary Username and Password with any third parties, outside those mentioned specifically in ITC’s individual agreement with its partners. |
| 11. | ITC reserves the right to change a partner organisation or any third party’s Username and Password occasionally with one month notice in writing. |
| 12. | Partner organisations are authorised to disseminate or sell access to their customised version of the Trade Map database to third parties in their own country. Access by third parties is authorised only with a different, secondary Username and Password obtained from the partner organisation or ITC via a registration front-end. |
| 13. | The Username / Password issued to third parties has been designed to operate exclusively from the first PC / Server from which the user accesses the Trade Map database. This will be monitored through the IP address of the PC / Server used by the third party. |
| 14. | Partner organisations are authorised to pass or sell any data and analysis extracted from the Trade Map database. Partner organisations are free to set prices to sell data and analysis extracted from the Trade Map database, as well as for consulting services that it may develop. In all cases, the source of Trade Map data should be referred to as “Trade Map developed by the International Trade Centre, www.intracen.org/mas” |
Generic version of the Trade Map database: “Trade Map”
| 15. | The generic, non-customised version of the Trade Map database, referred to as Trade Map, is provided to partner organisations and users who do not wish to disseminate access to the Trade Map database to third parties. |
| 16. | ITC Trade Map is provided to users on a subscription, via a Username / Password interface. |
| 17. | Access to Trade Map is for users’ internal use only. Usernames and Passwords are nominative, confidential and should not be published, disseminated or shared with any third party. |
| 18. | The Username / Password issued to users of the Trade Map database has been designed to operate exclusively from the first PC / Server from which the user accesses Trade Map. |
| 19. | In special circumstances, single organisations operating from a variety of offices or countries may be granted a global Username and Password to Trade Map, allowing access from multiple locations. |
| 20. | Users of the Trade Map database are authorised to use freely any data and analysis extracted from the Trade Map database. In all cases, the source of Trade Map data should be referred to as “Trade Map developed by the International Trade Centre, www.intracen.org/mas". |
General conditions
| 21. | See Terms and Conditions of the International Trade Centre, which also apply to the Trade Map site. |
| 22. | ITC reserves the right to revoke any user’s access to the Trade Map database in case of non-compliance with the above terms and conditions. |
| 23. | Users of the Trade Map database agree to be bound by the above terms and conditions by first entering the Trade Map database with the Username and Password provided by ITC or ITC’s partner organisations. |
